Hyong Kim and Young Kim, future residents of Issaquah Highlands, are
excited to announce Highlands Cleaners is now open, giving
all of us even more reason to want to live at Issaquah Highlands.
Hyong and Young currently own and operate Panda Cleaners in Seattle and
live in Bellevue with their two daughters. They have owned and operated
four shops, including Panda Cleaners which they opened in 2001.
Highlands Cleaners is their fifth shop, which Young will operate
and manage with her husband. They have recently hired a manager to operate
and manage Panda Cleaners in Bellevue. Hyong will go back and forth between
the shops.
Young went to school in Seoul, Korea focusing on fashion and design.
With her extensive knowledge of fabric and textiles, she came to the United
States in 1981 seeking to own her own business. She had family residing
in California already working in the dry cleaning business, and as a low
risk business, decided to branch out on her own.
Hyong went to school in Korea as well, for electrical engineering. Hyong
oversees the purchase and maintenance of the machinery used within their
dry cleaning business. Having such a background in engineering, he is
up-to-date on the latest technology in dry cleaning. Such technology will
include a greener approach to the dry cleaning process. Highlands Cleaners
will be free of toxins used within normal dry cleaning
facilities.
Highlands Cleaners also features an email service. Customers
can be notified when their dry cleaning is ready via email, as
well as other email services and notifications. Hyong and Young are very
excited to be a part of the Issaquah Highlands community. They know they
will thrive in business and friendships.
