WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?

Blakley Hall Interior

Here is a quick explanation of some of the common "Green" standards labels you'll find at Issaquah Highlands.

An ENERGY STAR® certified home has been performance tested by an independent third party so it can be verified to be energy efficient.

This means an extra measure of comfort and monthly energy savings for its owner.

Built GreenTM was established by the Master Builders Association, in partnership with King and Snohomish Counties, to provide consumers with an easy to understand rating system that quantifies environmentally friendly building practices.

The Built Green program uses premium building materials and practices that exceed local building code requirements, thereby enhancing a home’s performance and value.

A Built Green Home at Issaquah Highlands:

  • Is cleaner and healthier
  • Costs less to operate
  • Holds its value
  • Protects the environment

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System® is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings managed by the United States Green Building Council. LEED Certification distinguishes building projects that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability by meeting the highest performance standards. It is the goal of Port Blakely Communities to have all public and commercial buildings in Issaquah Highlands meet LEED standards.
