The City of Issaquah is working to maintain reliable utility services in Issaquah Highlands.sewer-video-area-2016

Starting Dec. 7, 2016, the City of Issaquah and its contractor — Bravo Environmental/PPV, Inc. — will be conducting closed circuit television (CCTV) inspection of the sewers in certain neighborhoods (see map). Work will continue through the end of December.

The work should not impact the availability of water or sewer services. Work will be conducted on weekdays only from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

Access to all neighborhood streets is expected to be continuously available during inspection. Access to and from individual driveways may be temporarily unavailable for up to one hour.

During the work, crews will gain access to the sewers through up to two adjacent manholes, which are typically located within the street. Crews will then lower a robotically operated tractor mounted with a TV camera into one of the manholes. The device then crawls through the sewer while continuously taking pictures of the interior.

This work will benefit the sewer system by locating the sources of groundwater infiltration and/or rainfall inflow. It will also provide documentation of the condition of the sewers.

If you have questions, please ask the onsite field supervisor or Robert York, City of Issaquah utilities engineering manager, at roberty@issaquahwa.gov or 425-837-3449.
