Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is committed to reducing carbon emissions in Washington state by supporting the growth of electric transportation in our region. However, we know that for some people, it can be financially out of reach.
This is why PSE is starting the new Up & Go Electric Home Charging rebate program, bringing electric vehicle (EV) chargers to your garage or residence with hundreds of dollars in savings.
With Up & Go Electric Home Charging, you can save up to $300 on a Level 2 EV charger with PSE rebates. Level 2 home chargers offer faster, more convenient charging than simply plugging your EV into a standard outlet.
Depending on your household income and size, you may qualify for enhanced Empower Mobility incentives, including a rebate of up to $600 on a Level 2 charger and up to $2,000 toward installation costs.
There are three ways to claim your PSE rebate.
- If you don’t yet have a Level 2 EV charger (or want a new one), you can buy one through the PSE Marketplace and receive an instant rebate.
- For customers who need a charger and help with installation, PSE can connect you with a trusted contractor who will be able to provide the rebate as well as installation help.
- PSE realizes that you may already have a charger. The good news is you still have a chance for a rebate. If you fall under this category and purchased a qualified charger in 2024, you can apply for a post-purchase rebate.
Customers can find more information about how to claim the rebate as well as eligibility requirements by visiting the PSE website. Additional questions? Contact an energy advisor or call 1-800-562-1482.
Maximize the Benefits of Charging
You will also have the opportunity to maximize the benefits of home charging by joining PSE Flex and continuing to save throughout the year based on your charging behavior. Customers using a Level 2 charger to charge their electric vehicle at home can enroll in PSE Flex to receive a $50 gift card as well as annual rewards.
As a participant of this program, you will be notified in advance of Flex events. These are specific periods when PSE anticipates high energy demand, such as days with extreme temperatures.
During these events, you will allow PSE to remotely pause your electric vehicle charging for approximately two to four hours between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. to help conserve energy and prevent undue stress on the electrical grid. Customers enrolled in PSE Flex always have the choice to opt out of events, but greater participation will help you maximize annual rewards.
