The tradition of “BOOing” your friends and neighbors dates back to the 1980s. This activity starts when one person leaves a basket or bag of treats on someone’s doorstep with a note and a BOO sign. The recipient then refills the basket with treats, includes a similar (or the same sign) and secretly delivers it to another neighbor who hasn’t been “booed” yet. There is no limit on how many people you BOO!
With the Halloween season finally upon us, this is the perfect time to start building “BOO baskets” and scouting out which neighbors you would like to surprise with a sweet treat!
We included a BOO sign in our fall issue of Connections. You can also download the pages here.
Happy BOOing!
