Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and the Seattle Sounders (FC) have announced an exciting new partnership aiming to create a winning combination both on and off the field. The multi-year agreement establishes PSE as the Official Energy Efficiency Partner of Sounders FC, marking a significant collaboration between two of the region’s most prominent organizations.
At the heart of this partnership is a shared commitment to energy savings and supporting our communities. Rising star midfielder Pedro de la Vega will serve as the partnership’s ambassador, helping to bridge the gap between soccer enthusiasm and energy efficiency awareness.
The collaboration aims to educate fans and customers about PSE’s various energy-saving programs, including PSE Flex Rewards, heat pump solutions and connections to pre-screened energy professionals.
The initiative extends far beyond traditional corporate sponsorship, with both organizations pledging to distribute 10,000 tickets per season to grassroots communities, ensuring broader access to Sounders matches. This will include Sounders-themed activities and experiences as well as appearances at a variety of community events.
The partnership also strengthens support for the RAVE Foundation, the Sounders’ charitable arm. PSE will serve as the presenting sponsor of RAVE Foundation clinics for youth in underserved communities and the “Saves for Youth” program, where each save made by the Sounders results in a $250 donation from PSE to the foundation.
Additionally, PSE is supporting the construction of two RAVE mini-pitches, contributing to Sounders FC’s and RAVE Foundation’s ambitious goal of building 52 mini-pitches by the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Through this innovative partnership, PSE and Sounders FC are creating a unique platform that combines the excitement of professional soccer with practical energy efficiency education, demonstrating how sports can be a catalyst for positive community change and energy efficiency.
