Drawing Herd by Coco Allred is a movable installation that functions as a pop-up site for observational drawing workshops. Designed for all ages and skill levels, the workshops use observation as a tool to both cultivate attention and foster connection. The project aims to provide creative experiences in public parks to increase well-being for self, community and place.
This workshop will delve into understanding how dogs navigate space and what their body language, walking patterns, and interactions with other dogs and people reveal about their thoughts and emotions. Guided by canine models, artists will work spontaneously to map their movements in space and capture their various poses. Participants are welcome to bring dogs that are comfortable around others.
This class will meet near the playground at Central Park.
This program is funded by the City of Issaquah through the 2023 Art Season Grant.
