Global Grub & Groove: Indian Independence Day

Join friends and neighbors at Village Green for fun, food, and free entertainment to celebrate culture and community! This summer, our Global Grub & Groove tradition continues with a celebration of Indian Independence Day. Free to attend – all are welcome! Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment! Food will be on sale starting at 5:30 p.m., so feel free to come a bit early and grab a good seat!

Celebrate the culture of India with an afternoon of traditional and contemporary music, dance and art. Enjoy live performances by Sangeeta Khanna, Shivani Vyas from Seattle Adavu, Aishwarya Pradeep from Sathsang School of Music, Nanita Gupta from Rangeela Dance Company and more. Discover the photographic art of Shubha Timurale, savor Indian cuisine, try henna, play carrom and take home a fun cultural craft.

Issaquah’s own Masthi Bar & Grill will offer food for purchase. They prefer cash or Zelle payments but will also accept credit cards.  The menu includes:

• Samosas (2 pieces, served with mint chutney) – $6
• Wrap (choice of paneer or chicken tikka rolled in soft, fluffy bread and served with chips) – $10
• Dinner Box (choice of paneer or chicken curry, served with daal, naan, jeera rice and raita) – $15
• Mango Lassi – $6
• Chai – $5

The Issaquah Ice Cream Trike will also offer frozen treats for purchase.
