Whether you’ve traveled around the world or are planning your first adventure, the Travel Club offers monthly and informative Travel Nights at Blakely Hall as a way to share and learn about different countries and individual experiences. The bulk of the evening will be unstructured, get-acquainted time so we can all share and learn about travel. Light snacks are provided but feel free to bring a beverage to share.

This month’s topic is Greece: A Crossroads of the Ancient World
Greece is a country of paradox. Filled with the glory of the Hellenic Republic, it is a country struggling in our modern economies. In its apex, it was one of the cradles of our modern civilization. Even in its grandeur of temples and amphitheaters, gods and goddesses, battles and victories, there are remnants of civilizations even older, making it a must visit country.
Come, see and hear about the wonders of ancient Greece. From the large city of Athens, in which you find the ruins of the Acropolis, museums and cultural gathering places, to the Northern Mountains still wild and home to peak site Monasteries. Add in the city of Olympus, site of the first games and Delphi, home of the Oracle. You will want to see it all. But even then, you’re not done -the Greek Islands; oh my! Curious?
Don’t miss the opportunity to attend an Issaquah Highlands Travel Club presentation “Greece, A Crossroad of the Ancient World,” presented by Larry Norton and Sue Frank. Join us at Blakely Hall Wednesday September 12th at 7PM. Wine and lite-bites as always, so bring a favorite libation to share. Join us for an evening of conversation and excitement about travel. Where will it take you?
