IHCA STREET TREE REPLACEMENT NOTICE
Each year the IHCA replaces several trees throughout the community that have failed due to natural causes, overgrowth and vehicle damage. In order to minimize the disruption to residents while balancing efficiency, we have adapted a process where we will first remove all the damaged trees along a large area of the street and then replant new trees within a few days’ time.
Currently, failed trees in two areas must be addressed due to a root disease making the trees very unstable and prone to wind damage. The IHCA will replace the effected trees with European Hornbeams and Bowhall Maples which are more suitable for a streetscape application. Tress in these two areas will be replaced as follows (maps attached):
Section of 30th avenue between Park Drive and Harrison Street: Removal and replacement scheduled between January 22nd – January 24th (Some replacements already occurred in this area last year)
Section of 10th avenue between NE Ingram St and 11th Ave NE: Removal and replacement scheduled between January 24th – January 26th
Please look out for street parking closure signs in these areas and use caution for the safety of our employees and residents. Feel free to contact Jessica Dorsey at Jessica.D@IHCommunity.org if there are any questions or concerns about the above tree replacements.
Thank you,
