Treats & Tails

Treats and Tails was an amazing event organized by the Highlands Youth (HY) Advisory Board and offered free to the public on Oct. 21. Everyone, including pets, were able to experience indoor trick-or-treating while showing off their spooktacular Halloween costumes. It was a wonderful time for families and friends to come together and have a blast!

HY members Haley and Riley had fun helping a family in matching pumpkin costumes play a matching card game to win candy.

A young girl was excited about the outcome of her ghost lollipop, which she made with help from HY members Aarav and Cash.

HY member Ashwin assists a young boy with throwing a ball into the Boo Toss for the chance to win fun prizes. Behind them, Avik and Jeric play another tossing game with spooky cups.

A family tries to scoop rubber duckies out of a bucket for the chance to win great prizes and candy.

The witch hat ring toss game was a huge hit. It looks like the attendees were having an excellent time!

Middle School Halloween Party

The HY Board hosted an action-packed Middle School Halloween Party at Blakely Hall on Oct. 28. Middle Schoolers played games, enjoyed refreshments, joined some arts and crafts projects, hung out with friends, and participated in other fun activities.

The HY Board received a power-packed pep talk just moments before the start of the event. About 150 middle schoolers registered for the party.

There was tough competition at the Marshmallow Mash station. Two girls raced to see who could walk across the room and back in the quickest amount of time and without dropping their marshmallow.

Look at these kids, they had a fantastic time hanging out with their friends.

HY members Zinna and Anisha ran the Spider Grab station, which saw steep competition as middle schoolers raced to move the most spiders into a bucket while using only chopsticks.

The evening concluded with karaoke, hosted by HY member Saira. Two boys performed a Taylor Swift classic as the whole room sang along.

Anisha is a seventh grader at Pacific Cascade Middle School and a member of the HY Board.
