Get Involved with Highlands Council: A Call for New Board Members

Highlands Council is currently seeking community members to serve on our board of trustees. Serving as a board member is a great way to give back, stay engaged and informed, and guide the direction of our community building efforts.

Board members are actively involved in organizational governance. They’re expected to participate in regularly scheduled meetings, attend community events, serve as ambassadors for the community, and passionately support our mission to foster the development of a vibrant and caring community committed to service, diversity, stewardship and well-being.

The board is searching for a variety of skills. Our current emphasis is candidates with legal, human resources or real estate experience as well as those connected to Issaquah Highlands commercial stakeholders, cultural organizations or communities of color.

Highlands Council values and celebrates the strengths that diversity brings to our community and to our organization. Cultivating a diverse and inclusive board of trustees is a priority. Individuals with underrepresented identities (including, but not limited to race, gender identity, class, social economic status, sexual orientation, age, ability and background) are strongly and sincerely encouraged to apply.

Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.  Those interested should complete an application online or reach out to Lindsey Pinkston at  lindsey.p@ihcouncil.org to learn more about the opportunity. The job description can be found here.
