Join ISD for School Design Sprints

ISD is hosting three School Design Sprints, and anyone in our community is invited to participate. Design Sprints are fun and engaging experiences that call for participants to work in small teams to dream up big ideas for the future of education for our students!

Design sprints are not full of long discussions or presentations focused on what we don’t like about school. Instead, we use the positive energy, curiosity and creativity in the room to come up with ideas that can be shared with each other to inspire future conversations in the district around innovation and experiences for our students.

Please sign up to participate using this Design Sprints sign up form. Students in all grades and adults of all ages are welcome to attend. Each event runs from 5-6:30 p.m.

  • Feb. 6 – Skyline High School Library
  • March 5 – Issaquah High School Library
  • March 7 – Liberty High School Library

Middle, High School XELLO Invitations to Arrive Feb. 9

Xello is an online program that ISD students use to complete their High School and Beyond Plan, which is a graduation requirement. Beginning in middle school, students have a set of tasks each year which must be completed prior to graduation.

ISD is excited to introduce Xello Family, a new feature that allows caregivers to log into their own Xello account.  This account allows caregivers to see their student’s annual High School and Beyond Plan progress as well as any careers or interests the student has saved.  This account also provides the caregiver with the opportunity to log in to Xello as a demo student, where they can explore the Xello site and tools with the same view a student would have.

On Feb. 9, Xello will send an email invitation to the first family member listed in Family Access, for each middle and high school student, with a link to access their Xello Family account. The link expires after 7 days. If you received the email but the link expired, please contact Xello with your student’s name and school to request a new Xello Family link.

If you are not the first caregiver listed in Family Access and would also like to receive an invitation to create a Xello Family account, please complete this Xello Family Account Request Form.

Each high school will host a school-specific event in late February. Sessions will be held in English, Spanish and Chinese. Sessions in other languages will be scheduled at an alternative time.

Revised Calendar Includes March 15 Make-Up Day

March 15, 2024, which was previously noted on the school-year calendar as a potential inclement weather make-up day, will be a school day to make up for the day the district canceled school due to poor road conditions on Jan. 17. The new 2023-24 school-year calendar is available on our website.
If school is canceled again during the school year due to inclement weather or other unforeseen changes, additional school days will be added to the school calendar in June.
